Minnesota Wild winger Ryan Hartman was suspended one game following his interference infraction in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Hartman was disciplined by the NHL on Wednesday for his huge open-ice hit against Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers at the 11:31 mark of the third period.

Hartman was penalized for interference and roughing on the play, which sparked a brawl and saw Ehlers leave the ice holding the back of his head.

Hartman, 28, has 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) and is second on the Wild with 90 penalty minutes through 59 games.

Minnesota (46-25-10, 102 points) plays its regular-season finale on Thursday at Nashville. The playoff-bound Wild are third in the Central Division, two points behind the Dallas Stars.

A first-round pick by Chicago in 2013, Hartman has 233 points (107 goals, 126 assists) in 506 career games with the Blackhawks, Predators, Philadelphia Flyers and Wild.

The league also fined Winnipeg defenseman Neal Pionk $5,000 on Wednesday for cross-checking Wild forward Marcus Johansson with 47 seconds remaining in Tuesday’s game. Pionk was assessed a five-minute major.
