ONE on Prime Video 4
was a consistently exciting evening of
martial arts fury.

In the main event, One
welterweight kingpin Christian
(17-4, 17-4 ONE) attempted to become a champ-champ by
challenging middleweight ace Kiamrian
(23-5, 4-3 ONE), which he did after nearly being slept
in Round 1, only to score a thrilling technical knockout stoppage
of his own late in Round 4.

Since Abbasov missed weight, only Lee could win the title, with it
becoming vacant otherwise. The action in the opening frame was
electric. Abbasov scored again and again with heavy left and right
hooks to the head, with Lee grappling and looking for takedowns.
Halfway through, Abbasov smashed Lee with a brutal hook, sending
him crashing to the canvas and very close to being out. Lee got up,
but Abbasov connected with one sledgehammer blow after another as
the challenger appeared to be out on his feet. Referee Herb Dean
allowed the fight to continue and his faith was rewarded, as
Abbasov had punched himself out, struggling to breathe as Lee
clinched for dear life. Lee got the desperation takedown and even
moved to full mount as the first stanza closed.

In the next two rounds, both men were tired, but Lee was doing
better, starting to score with his own striking and continuing to
shoot for takedowns, though Abbasov still landed big hooks when he
had enough stamina to throw them. Lee had major success in Round 4
by repeatedly bashing Abbasov’s legs with a series of kicks and
then adding a torrent of hammer-like elbows in the clinch for good
measure. He then got an easy takedown over an overwhelmed Abbasov,
quickly attained mount, and
dismembered Abbasov with ground-and-pound to become a newly minted
at welterweight and middleweight.

In the co-main event, ONE muay thai flyweight champion Rodtang
successfully defended his throne against a
challenge by kickboxing strawweight king Joseph
via one-sided decision. Rodtang controlled the fight
with his ferocious kicks, smashing again and again into every part
of Lasiri’s body, especially the legs, like two giant clubs. He
added a series of technical, sharp boxing combinations, with the
left hook doing fine work, and heavy right elbows for good measure.
Lasiri worked a very nice jab, but could otherwise mount little
offense as he was stuck moving backwards and covering up. Rodtang
clearly won all five rounds and scored a knockdown in both
championship frames.

(17-2, 3-0 ONE) made a big statement with a dominant
unanimous decision over former featherweight world champion
(24-6, 12-3 ONE). The 42 year-old Brazilian had
occasional moments in the stand-up and grappling, but Loman was far
stronger and more energetic, landing more strikes and powering
through takedowns of his own before unleashing brutal
ground-and-pound at a heavy rate of fire.

Forty year-old kickboxer Cosmo
scored a sensational second-round knockout over
with a thunderous elbow from the clinch and
afterwards tearfully retired from combat sports. Alexandre spent
the first round being economical with his blows, throwing few
strikes but landing effectively when he did. While he might have
lost the opening stanza due to inactivity, he crashed through with

one last gorgeous finish in the second round
, a fitting way to
ride off into the sunset.

Kicking off the main card, former ONE featherweight champion
(20-10, 11-10 ONE) looked to snap a four fight losing
streak, but was instead knocked out in the first round by Jae Woong
(13-6, 4-3 ONE) courtesy of a clean right cross followed by
a beautiful left hook. Belingon scored a big overhand right early,
but was too reckless in seeking the finish,
being splattered for his efforts halfway through the opening

On the undercard, former flyweight muay thai champion Jonathan
moved up to bantamweight but still missed weight and
then had to contend with a very stern challenge from Vladimir
Kuzmin. Haggerty looked visibly larger than his opponent, but lost
the first stanza before recovering with a series of nice head kicks
to take the second. The third was very close, with both men having
multiple good moments. The judges gave the bout to the favorite,
Haggerty, by majority decision. In the first MMA match of the
evening, Ruslan
Emilbek Uulu
(20-3, 3-2 ONE), a rare fighter from Kyrgyzstan,
won a split decision over previously undefeated Isi
(7-1, 0-1 ONE). It was a very close contest, with Uulu
scoring with his jab, body kicks and the odd takedown, while
Fitikefu connected on damaging hook combinations in the pocket.
Fitikefu’s moments were bigger but also fewer. In a submission
grappling contest, Danielle Kelley quickly took the back of Mariia
Molchanova, sinking in a
rear-naked choke that got progressively tighter and tighter
until Molchanova stood up, fell over, and tapped at 2:15. Opening
the night’s festivities, Liam Nolan battered the much shorter
with kicks, knees and elbows in a muay thai match on
his way to a one-sided unanimous decision verdict.
